Transfer Points
This section doesn't appear if configuration isn't set up to use Transfer Points or if the user doesn't have the correct permissions. The source account must be Active (not Suspended) to transfer points.
The External Identifier option may also not be available for point transfers, depending on configuration.
The Transfer Points section allows an agent, on behalf of a member, to transfer points from the member's account to another account (the recipient account). A member may want to do this to share accumulated points with a family member or friend, or as a gift. Points can only be transferred between two accounts at a time. There are no features that allow point transfers between multiple pairs of accounts, or from one account to many (or many to one) in a single operation.
How to transfer points
- From the top menu of the Console, select Membership > Member Search. Select any option, enter a valid value, and click Search. Click the record returned to open the member details page. The member page of the source account opens.
- Select Actions > Transfer Points.
- Select whether to search for the recipient by Card Number, Email, Phone Number, or another account identifier (subject to configuration). If you select Partner Link ID (if available), a dropdown appears where you can select a partner name.
- Enter a value in the field next to the Search button.
- Click Search. The agent search, including the parameters used, is included in an audit trail so that searches can be reviewed. If a corresponding account exists, the recipient account information is shown in the section.
- Click the Select button.
- In the Transfer Points window, the available balance of transferable points is shown. Enter the number of points to transfer, review the transfer details, then click Transfer.
- In the Apply Points Transfer confirmation window, click Proceed to complete the points transfer.
A confirmation message indicates that the points were transferred successfully. The relevant points balances at the top of the page are adjusted immediately by the number of points transferred. The recipient account is credited with the transferred points right away. There is no hold on transferred points, so they can be used immediately.
View points transfer transactions in the sender or recipient account
- From the top menu of the Console, select Membership > Member Search. Select any option, enter a valid value for the source or destination account, and click Search. Click the record returned to open the member details page.
- Click the Transactions tab. Points transfer transactions are listed under the Transaction Type column, for both inbound and outbound transfers.
- To view the details of a points transfer transaction, click the transaction.
