Transfer Ghost Card Balance

note

This feature may not be available depending on product configuration and permissions.

A ghost card is a card that hasn't yet been associated with the information required for member registration (the member's email address). This card can accumulate points by being associated with a transaction, but can't be used to redeem points until registration takes place (unless an agent allows redemptions on the ghost card; see Manage Redemption on Unregistered account for more information). However, the points can be transferred to an active account, whether held by the same member or not.

Transfer balance from a Ghost Card to an active account

  1. Select Membership > Member Search. Select a search method, enter a value, and click Search. Click one of the member records returned. The member details page opens.
  2. Select Actions > Ghost Card Transfer.
  1. Enter the ghost card number. If you want to make the ghost card the active card, ensure the Make this the active card toggle is enabled. Otherwise, see the notes below.
  2. Select Continue. The reward points from the ghost card are transferred to the current account.
  3. In the review window, select Transfer Balance and Update to confirm the transfer of points. The ghost card is set to Cancelled.
note
  • If Make this the active card isn't selected, the current active primary card receives the points from the specified ghost card, and the ghost card is then cancelled. This change is summarized in the confirmation window (step 5 above).
  • Points transferred from the ghost card to the active card are added to the point balance. The transactions are also moved from the ghost card to the Transactions tab for the active card. However, transferring points from a ghost card in this way can't change the member's tier status.

Activate a Ghost Card

  1. Select Membership > Member Search. Select a search method, enter a value, and click Search. Click one of the member records returned. The member details page opens.
  2. Select Actions > Ghost Card Transfer.
  3. Enter the ghost card number.
  4. Enable the Make this the active card toggle button.
  5. In the confirmation window, click Transfer Balance and Update. The points from the current account are transferred to the ghost card number entered, which becomes the active card. The previous active card is set to Cancelled.
note

When Make this the active card is selected, the ghost card becomes the active primary card and the current active primary card is cancelled. This change is summarized in the confirmation window (step 5 above).
