Basics Section

The Basics section specifies the internal identifiers for the offer, the spending behavior required to use the offer, and the offer's reward type. It contains the following subsections:

  1. Internal Identifiers
  2. Required Behavior and Reward Type
note

Some internal identifiers, such as the Business Unit field, only appear in your Console if your company uses their features.

Create the internal identifiers

  1. Enter the offer business unit. If you already selected this while navigating to the Offers section, it will be greyed out.

  2. Enter the offer name. Names must follow these rules:

    • 3 to 128 characters
    • Letters (including French characters), numbers, and spaces
    • Symbols: _@+-$&'
  3. Enter the offer ID. Use 3 to 128 characters, including only letters, numbers, and underscores.

    More on the offer's ID

    The offer ID is the system identifier for the offer throughout ES Loyalty. It can't be edited after the offer is saved as a draft or published, and it appears in most promotion dashboards for filtering purposes. A few examples include:

    • If your company uses set offer periods — YYYYMM_PRODUCT such as "202410_HOTDOGS";
    • If your company doesn't have a set offer cadence — YYYY-MM-DD_CONTEXT such as "2025_10_31_Halloween_Promo";
    • If your company requires a code linked to internal systems — #A#A#A#A#A such as "0A1B2C3D4E"
