Sales Activity Report
The Insights menu and Standard Reports or Reports Overview sub-menu are only visible if you have the correct permissions to access reports.
The Sales Activity dashboard provides an instant and customizable sales tracker. It offers high-level trend data for key performance metrics as well as detailed comparisons across different dimensions or combinations of dimension hierarchies.
The Sales Activity dashboard consists of three reports:
- Sales Activity - Detail Analysis
- Sales Activity - KPI and Data Cube
- Sales Activity - Product Details
See the corresponding sections below for more information about each report. Note: For more information about specific metrics within this report, see the Loyalty Product Reporting Training Handbook available from your Exchange Solutions representative.
Sales Activity - Detail Analysis Report
This report provides an instant and customizable sales tracker with high-level trends for key performance metrics and detailed comparisons across dimensions or combinations of dimension hierarchies.
The report shows KPIs for four key categories — Sales & Margin, Members, Transactions, and Rewards — for both loyalty and non-loyalty, broken down by different dimensions. It is used to gain insight into program performance and support strategic sales management.
You can also access a data cube to create customized views of sales activity.
The report lets you view loyalty sales data in the context of overall sales data, and compare margins, transactions, loyalty transaction penetration, volume, number of active members, base and bonus points awarded, total points issued and redeemed, current vs. last fiscal period, running totals for the current fiscal period, store comparisons, and loyalty sales penetration.
If displayed, the Loyalty Identifier lets you select which attribute was used in the transaction to identify loyalty (for example, Loyalty ID, Email, Phone Number, and so on).

Current Vs. Last and Running Total - Current Vs. Last Sections
The Current Vs. Last and Running Total - Current Vs. Last sections visualize trends over time based on the filter settings chosen. The section titles change to reflect the selected View Metric By setting.
The Current Vs. Last line chart provides a direct day-to-day, week-to-week, or month-to-month comparison between current and previous periods based on the selected metric. The Running Total - Current Vs. Last line chart provides a cumulative comparison between current and previous periods.

Comparison Sections
The charts at the bottom of the report provide an intuitive way to visualize the locality, spread, and skewness of selected dimension groups based on the sales metric selected in the filters at the top of these sections.
The chart on the left is a box plot. The "box" represents where 50% of the results landed — from the bottom line (25th percentile) to the upper line (75th percentile). The middle point of the box, where the shading color changes, is the median. The "whiskers" (the lines above and below the box) represent the boundaries for almost all values; data points outside the whiskers are outliers.
The chart on the right compares two metrics over the selected time period, based on the selections in Select Metric 1 and Select Metric 2.
To control the box chart in the Total Sales Comparison section:
- Select Compared By. Options include Store Province/State, Store Division, Store Name, and Store Number. The box plot is organized by this selection as the basis for comparison between stores.
- Choose the Date Group — the time periods to display. Options include Date (days with available data), Fiscal Week or Calendar Week, Fiscal Month, Fiscal Quarter, or Fiscal Year.
- For Date Element, select All to view all available periods, or deselect specific items and click Apply to include only selected periods. Up to 24 periods can be displayed.
- Choose Select Metric 1. This is reflected in the title of the left-hand chart and contributes to the basis for comparison in both charts.
- Choose Select Metric 2. This is reflected in the title of the right-hand chart. The same options are available as for Select Metric 1.
- To highlight data for a particular item such as a store number or store name, click that item in the legend. The related data points are highlighted in the chart.
- Hover over a specific data point to view additional information.
- To focus on one metric in the line chart on the right and view details for the nearest data point, click the corresponding line.
- To access the Sales Activity - KPI & Data Cube report at any time, click the KPI & Data Cube link in the upper right corner of the Sales Activity - Detail Analysis report.
