Report Management

The Report Management option in the Insights menu is only visible if you have the correct permissions to access report management.

Report Management lets you manage published and unpublished reports, view report information such as creation and last modified dates, see how many reports exist for each type, and preview and publish changes to report names, descriptions, and access permissions.

Setting Roles to View Reports

When users are given access to the reporting portal, they are set up with specific roles that ensure each user only has access to relevant reports.

Edit and publish an unpublished report

  1. Select Insights > Report Management.
  2. On the Report Management page, make sure the Unpublished Reports tab is selected.
  3. Find the report in the list and click the name of the selected category. The Report Count shows how many reports are in that category.
  4. In some cases, the next level down (Project) groups related reports. Click the name again to navigate to the next level (Workbook).
  5. Click the Workbook name to reach the individual reports, then click the report name to open it for editing.
  6. Make any required changes in Report Details (the report name and description) and/or Report Permissions (by selecting the roles that may access the report).
  7. Click Publish Report, then Confirm in the confirmation window. You are returned to the Report Management page and the report is now listed under the Published Reports tab.

Edit a published report

  1. Select Insights > Report Management.

  2. On the Report Management page, select the Published Reports tab.

  3. Find the report in the list and click the name of the selected category. The Report Count shows how many reports are in that category.

  4. In some cases, the next level down (Project) groups related reports. Click the name again to navigate to the next level (Workbook).

  5. Click the Workbook name to reach the individual reports, then click the report name to open it for editing.

  6. Make any required changes in Report Details (the report name and description) and/or Report Permissions (by selecting the roles that may access the report).

  7. Click Republish Report, then Confirm in the confirmation window. You are returned to the Report Management page and the updated report is listed under Published Reports. A message confirms which action took place.

  8. To unpublish a report, click Unpublish Report, then Unpublish in the confirmation window.

    note

    The report's metadata remains available under the Unpublished Reports tab for republishing later. The report is then shown under the Unpublished Reports tab.

Preview a report

  1. Select Insights > Report Management.
  2. On the Report Management page, select the Published Reports or Unpublished Reports tab as required.
  3. Navigate to the report and open it (see the steps in either procedure above). The Report Details page opens.
  4. Click Preview Report on the bottom toolbar. A preview of the report details is displayed.
  5. Click Back to return to the Report Details page.
